    AI receptionist · Law firms

An AI receptionist for law firms that does the intake and books the consultation.

A potential client who reaches voicemail at a law firm calls the next firm within minutes. Kinetiq's AI receptionist answers 24/7, asks the intake questions you'd ask, books qualified callers into a consultation, politely declines the matters you don't take, and gets an attorney on the line when it's urgent.

A first call, handled the way you'd want

    1. Identify the matter. "Can you tell me briefly what this is about?" It recognizes practice areas you handle and the ones you don't.
    2. Run your intake. The questions you give us, in order: names of other parties (for a conflict check), date of the incident, county, whether they've spoken to another attorney, how they heard about you.
    3. Qualify or refer. Qualified callers get a consultation slot in the attorney's calendar and a confirmation text with what to bring. Matters outside your practice get a polite decline and, if you want, a referral number.
    4. Escalate. "I've been arrested," "there's a hearing tomorrow," or an existing client with an urgent question: transferred live to the attorney or the on-call number you set.
    5. Record. A summary and full transcript land in Clio, Lawmatics, MyCase, PracticePanther, or your CRM, tagged as new lead, existing client, or other.

Built for how firms actually work

    • Practice-area rules. Personal injury intake is different from family law intake. Each gets its own script and its own calendar.
    • Existing clients vs. new leads. It recognizes existing clients by number and routes them to their paralegal or attorney instead of running intake again.
    • No legal advice. It will not tell a caller whether they have a case or what the law says. It gathers facts and books the consult. That boundary is in the script and it holds.
    • Consult fees. If you charge for consultations, it explains the fee and can send a payment link before the appointment is confirmed.
    • Spanish-speaking callers. It switches languages when the caller does.

    Confidentiality

Calls are encrypted in transit and at rest and retained only as long as you choose. Transcripts are visible only to the people at your firm you designate. We do not use your calls to train general AI models, and we'll put our data handling in writing for your engagement letter or your malpractice carrier's questionnaire.

    Where the leads leak today

For most small firms it's after 5 pm, during court, and during the ten minutes the receptionist is at lunch. If you run Google or Meta ads for PI, family, or criminal defense, those calls are the expensive ones, and they come in at all hours. Forwarding after-hours and overflow to the receptionist is the usual starting point.

    Pricing

One-time setup plus a flat monthly fee sized to call volume and the number of practice areas. No per-minute billing. If you're comparing to a human answering service, ask them what an intake-length call costs at their per-minute rate; ours is the same price whether the call is 30 seconds or 12 minutes.

    Next step

Hear it answer your phone before you pay for anything.

A 15-minute call. We look at how your business runs today and tell you honestly what we'd build and what it would cost. No credit card, no deck.

    Questions we get about this

Does the AI receptionist give legal advice?
No. It gathers the facts you ask for, books a consultation, and escalates anything urgent. It is scripted not to comment on the merits of a matter or on the law.
Can it run a conflict check?
It collects the names of adverse parties as part of intake and puts them in the record. The conflict check itself stays with your staff or your practice-management software.
    Does it integrate with Clio?
Yes. New leads, contacts, and call notes go into Clio Grow or Clio Manage. Lawmatics, MyCase, PracticePanther, and Smokeball are also supported.
What about calls from existing clients?
It recognizes existing clients by phone number and routes them to the right person or takes a message for them, instead of treating them as a new lead.
